The Guided By Grace Certified Doula (GGCD) credential is a personnel certification issued by Rooted Creative Group, LLC under the Guided By Grace Doulas program, aligned to ISO/IEC 17024:2012. What is GGCD?
GGCD is a personnel certification from Rooted Creative Group, LLC under the Guided By Grace Doulas program, aligned to ISO/IEC 17024:2012. It validates non-clinical, culturally responsive doula practice.
Who can apply?
Adults 18+ who’ve completed an approved doula training (or equivalent), agree to the Code of Conduct and impartiality terms, and meet documentation requirements.
Do I need HIPAA training?
Yes. You must provide a HIPAA Privacy & Security Training certificate dated within the past 12 months (or state-equivalent privacy training, if applicable). Renewal requires a HIPAA refresher within 12 months of recertification.
Do I need CPR?
Yes—current adult/infant CPR (or equivalent) if required by the program at the time of application or renewal.
What’s on the exam?
A structured exam mapped to a published blueprint: Professional Practice/Ethics/Privacy & HIPAA; Prenatal Support; Labor & Birth Support; Immediate Postpartum & Infant Feeding; and Business/Documentation/Boundaries.
How often do I recertify?
Every 3 years, with 30 CE hours aligned to the domains, continued adherence to the Code of Conduct, and current HIPAA refresher training.
