Discovering Breathwork
Our journey began when my daughter was a toddler. I vividly recall moments when she felt overwhelmed—whether it was due to a small tantrum, the stress of not getting her way, or facing new experiences. It was tough to see her struggle with these emotions, and I wanted to help.
One day, during a particularly rough moment, I remembered a simple breathing exercise from a yoga class I'd attended years ago. The technique was straightforward: inhale deeply through the nose, hold for a moment, and then exhale through the mouth. After guiding my daughter through this exercise, I saw a noticeable change in her demeanor. Her tension eased within minutes, and we both regained our balance. This small victory opened my eyes to the potential of breathwork.
The Importance of Breath
Breath is our life source. It’s the first thing we do when we enter this world, and it remains our constant companion. However, we often overlook its potential. Instead of using it as a tool for emotional well-being, we treat breathing as a mere physical function.

Breathing Exercises to Try
Here are two breathing exercises from our book that you can practice with your kids today:
1. Balloon Breathing
How it Works: Imagine you're a balloon. As you inhale, picture the air filling your balloon, making it bigger. When you exhale, slowly let the air out.
Steps:
Stand or sit comfortably.
Inhale deeply through your nose, filling up your imaginary balloon.
Exhale slowly through your mouth, feeling your balloon deflate.
This visualization helps children understand deep breathing while turning it into a fun game.
2. Rainbow Breathing
How it Works: With each breath in and out, visualize a color of the rainbow, associating each color with calmness and positivity.
Steps:
Sit comfortably.
Inhale deeply, imagining a red light filling your body with warmth.
Exhale, letting go of any tension.
Repeat this process for each color of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet).
This exercise fosters creativity while promoting a soothing rhythm in breathing.
A Project with Purpose
This project has a deeper mission beyond personal growth. We decided that a portion of our book’s sales would support those in need.
We are donating 20% of the proceeds to Pro Natura, an organization committed to preserving our natural landscapes, and another 20% to local families facing hardship. This initiative aligns closely with my belief in community and our role as caretakers of both our environment and each other.

Writing this book alongside my daughter has reinforced the importance of shared experiences. Each page we created was filled with laughter, challenges, and moments of discovery. We often paused to practice the breathing exercises we crafted, energized by the insights they brought us.
